Determinants for a sustainable return to work by older workers who have suffered a physical or psychological occupational injury

Abstract

This study looks at the factors that affect maintenance of employment and a sustainable return to work in older workers (45 years of age and older) who have suffered a physical or psychological occupational injury.

Based on qualitative interviews of these workers, a questionnaire (ACT 45+) will be designed and validated to identify working conditions that facilitate a sustainable return to work. In addition, the researchers will validate a sustainable return-to-work prediction model that incorporates variables related to psychosocial factors, working condition accommodations and workplace mental health.
