OHS conditions and retention of senior workers in a Québec educational environment

Abstract

Recent statistics show that physical and psychological injuries sustained by Québec educational workers and resulting in CSST-compensated lost time were more common among employees aged 45 to 54. A number of studies have shown the link between age, inability to work due to a health issue and early retirement.

The purpose of this project is to determine occupational health and safety conditions (OHS) facilitating the retention of workers aged 45 in a Québec school board.

The findings will be used to establish OHS conditions conducive to prolonging the pre-retirement working life of seniors and helping them stay healthy.
