Montreal, October 11, 2017 - The Institut de recherche Robert-Sauvé en santé et en sécurité du travail (IRSST) and the Palais des congrès de Montréal have launched a call for applications from potential recipients of the first-ever IRSST/Ambassadors’ Club Joint Award. Valued at $10,000, the award will go to an applicant who, through his or her active involvement in a scientific committee or as the organizer of a national or major international conference, has demonstrated his or her intention to promote Montreal as the ideal location for holding a scientific event on occupational health and safety (OHS).

It will enable the award-winner to pursue his or her efforts to attract a major OHS conference to Montreal. In addition, the IRSST undertakes to cover the costs of two trips for the purpose of formalizing the arrangements for holding such an event at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.

Applicants are invited to submit their documents by January 31, 2018, specifying the actions they have taken to date as a member of a scientific committee or as an organizer of such an event, their motivations and the anticipated spinoffs. Applications will be evaluated by a panel composed of two IRSST scientific representatives from different disciplines, and one representative of the Ambassadors’ Club of the Palais des congrès de Montréal.

The winner of the IRSST/Ambassadors’ Club Joint Award will be announced in November 2018 at the Recognition Award Gala, an event organized by the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
