After overseeing the setting up of the IRSST’s laboratories, Jean Yves Savoie became the Institute’s Scientific Director in 1985. He was named Chief Executive Officer in 1990, heading the Institute for a decade that saw the emergence of increasingly complex needs. As the CEO, he placed particular importance on strengthening ties between research and the world of work, developing this partnership culture ‒ one of the Institute’s foundations ‒ by injecting unprecedented drive and momentum.
