Analysis of the Work of First Responders in Pandemic Crisis Management: Maximizing Performance and Resilience

Abstract

In this period of health crisis, first responders are finding themselves in situations of increased vulnerability, at the same time as their actions become more diverse and increasingly complex.

This project has five objectives:

- Modeling the work of first responders in a pandemic context;
- Assessing situational awareness and ways to increase it;
- Identifying risks and good practices;
- Evaluating the effectiveness of the training tools in place and their sustainability;
- Developing tools and training to share best practices in the long term.

The results will meet the immediate needs of police, paramedics and correctional officers. The convergence of various sources of data in the development of methods, tools and training will contribute to lasting benefits in these settings.

This research project was selected through the call for proposals for projects related to COVID-19.
