Vibration related to modes of vehicle suspension

Abstract

This publication describes a study carried out in the context of a larger project on the whole-body vibrations felt by Montreal subway operators. The objective was to investigate a few running tracks in order to evaluate their quality, since the uniformity of these surfaces is one of the main indicators of their condition due to its effect on user comfort. From the measurement results, it can be concluded that the unevenness of the Montreal subway running tracks is minor and therefore has little impact on the vibration felt by users and operators. The report presents the method used and the measurement results obtained.
