Human Exposure to Vibration

  •   September 09, 2013

From September 9 to 13, the IRSST will host the 36th meeting of the ISO/TC 108/SC 4—Human exposure to mechanical vibration and shock International Standards Committee and the European Committee for Standardization CEN/TC 231—Mechanical vibration and shock.

These committees are composed of experts who draw up standards and other reference documents in the variety of fields related to human exposure to mechanical vibrations and shocks. The meetings of the working groups will deal with topics such as whole-body vibration, hand-arm vibration, vibrotactile perception, biodynamic modelling and anti-vibration seats and gloves.

The meetings that will be held at the IRSST will further the ongoing work within the various working groups associated with these committees. “The participation of the Institute’s scientists in such standardization committees is a way of assuring the IRSST’s strategic presence on the international stage. This year, we are proud to welcome experts from the many member countries,” states the Institute’s scientific director, Paul-Émile Boileau.
