Alain Lajoie thas worked at the IRSST since 1981, bringing his prior experience as an environmental and OHS chemist. After holding several management positions at the Institute, including Coordinator of Analytical Support, Director of Laboratory Services and Expertise and Director of Operations, he became Research and Expertise Director in 2006. He also served as President of the Association québécoise pour l'hygiène, la santé et la sécurité du travail (AQHSST) and the Fondation de l’AQHSST from 2005 to 2012. In 2008, he went on to become Chief Executive at Via Prévention.
