The next edition of SIAS will take place in Tampere, Finland, on June 12 and 13, 2024.

In 2024, this conference will be organized by the Technical Research Center of Finland (VTT Technical Research Center of Finland), Tampere University, and Finnish Society of Automation.

Take stock of the advancement of knowledge in the safety of industrial machines

Automation has reduced the frequency of physical person-machine interactions; however, it has increased the complexity of human interventions. For example, accidents still occur during maintenance or diagnostic phases, usually because the machine starts unexpectedly. A better understanding of human-machine interface conditions as well as the development of methods, means and tools to control risks must be considered. This conference takes a close look at industrial research and development from an occupational health and safety perspective. The themes covered include the assessment of “machine”. risks, safety and protection devices, the design of control systems, as well as human and organizational factors.

SIAS is a prestigious event first organized in 1999 by internationally renowned experts from institutions such as IRSST (Canada), INRS (France), JNIOSH (Japan) and IFA (Germany).
