Analysis:

Cadmium (respirable dust) (as Cd)

Method: IRSST - 362
Sampling device: 941 Respirable impactor (PPI) MCE 37 mm, 0,8 µm, preweighed
Parameters:
Flow rate: 2 L/min
TWA sampling volume: 240 L
STEL sampling volume: -
Remarks: Please note that the use of ECM filters in these cassettes induces a greater variation in the gravimetric analysis. A surface wipe sampling is available. For more information, please contact the IRSST.
Principle: Inductively coupled plasma spectrometry (ICP-MS)
Precision (%): 2,5
Minimum reported value: 0,05 µg
Remarks: This method allows the analysis of chemical elements present in the sample without distinguishing the different chemical forms. The analytical results are expressed as cadmium, respirable fraction.

Sampling media required:
#IRSSTDescription
949 Disposable multi-fraction sampler, 25mm MCE, 5µm (DRS)

Parameters:
Flow rate: 2 L/min
TWA sampling volume: 240 L
STEL sampling volume: -
Remarks: A surface wipe sampling is available. For more information, please contact the IRSST.
Principle: Inductively coupled plasma spectrometry (ICP-MS)
Remarks: The minimum reported value (MRV) is 0.025 µg for respirable particles and 0.050 µg for inhalable particles. The analytical uncertainty (CVa) is 4.2% for respirable particles and 6.1% for inhalable particles. This method allows the analysis of chemical elements present in the sample without distinguishing the different chemical forms. The analytical results are expressed as cadmium, respirable and inhalable fractions.
