World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day is observed every year, on October 10. Its main objective is raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health. It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, an international membership organization with members and contacts in more than 100 countries.

“Mental health is defined as a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.”
