Profile

Sophie De Serres has worked as a scientific advisor in the IRSST’s Scientific Division since 2010. She participates in the evaluation of research protocols and of activity, research and expert reports. The evaluation process is based on the analyses of experts who are qualified to judge the scientific or technical merit of documents brought to their attention. A mechanical engineer by training, Sophie also holds a master’s degree in biomedical engineering and a Ph.D. in neurophysiology. Before joining the IRSST team, she worked in the academic community as an assistant professor at McGill University’s School of Physical and Occupational Therapy. She also headed a sensorimotor rehabilitation research laboratory and has published some 30 articles in specialized journals.
