Profile

Franck Sgard has worked at the IRSST since 2006. He is a senior researcher, whose work focuses mainly on the prevention of occupational hearing loss and accidents related to workplace noise. He holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Université de Sherbrooke and the Institut national des sciences appliquées in Lyon, France. Franck has published more than 325 scientific documents: articles for academic journals, conference papers, popular articles, a book and research reports. He has been Associate Editor of the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America since 2010. In addition, he has supervised some 50 graduate students in mechanical engineering and participated in the evaluation of around 30 master’s projects and Ph.D. theses.
