Franck Sgard / Senior professional researcher

Franck Sgard has worked at the IRSST since 2006 as a researcher and leader of the Institute’s Mechanical and Physical Risk Prevention research field. His work focuses on the prevention of occupational hearing loss and accidents related to workplace noise. He holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Université de Sherbrooke and from the Institut national des sciences appliquées in Lyon, France. Franck has published over 240 scientific documents, including articles for academic journals, conference papers, popularized articles, a book and research reports. He has been Associate Editor of the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America since 2010. In addition, he has supervised some 40 graduate students in mechanical engineering and participated in the evaluation of around 30 master’s projects and Ph.D. theses.
