Profile

Simon Aubin has worked at the IRSST since 2004. For some 15 years, he held a position as a scientific professional in the Laboratory Division. Since earning his master’s degree in chemistry from McGill University in 2000, he has worked continuously in the field of analytical chemistry. He has participated in the introduction or development of analytical methods and in research activities involving isocyanates, nitrosamines, inhalable dusts and asphalt fumes. Simon also sits on the ISO TC146 SC2 WG4 Organic Vapours Work Group and on ASTM subcommittee D22.04 on Workplace Air Quality. Since obtaining his doctorate in chemistry at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) in 2023, Simon has been a professional researcher in the Research department. His research mainly concerns the development and validation of methods to measure chemical contaminants in air.
