Profile

With an academic background in fibrous materials (bachelor’s degree in textile engineering and master’s degree in the mechanics of flexible fibrous materials), Alireza Saidi also holds a PhD in fluid mechanics and processes applied to polymeric materials from the Institut national polytechnique de Grenoble. Before joining the IRSST in 2019, he worked for a number of years as a project manager in industrial research and development centres and groups in fields such as technical textiles, smart textiles (e-textiles), and flexible extensible electronics. His research interests concern the application of smart textiles to the field of occupational health and safety and the integration of advanced materials into personal protective equipment (PPE).
