Profile

Marie-Claude Barrette has worked in laboratories since 1990 and at the IRSST since 2004. She earned her master’s degree in analytical chemistry from Université de Montréal in 1991. She is in charge of all quality assurance activities of the Institute’s analysis and calibration laboratories in connection with the ISO/IEC 17025 Quality Management System and the requirements of the AIHA and NRC (CLAS program) certification programs. Her work focuses on laboratory activities and their certification by national and international bodies, in response to the needs of collaborators in the public healthcare system and the private sector. Ms. Barrette supervises the development and publication of methods by the laboratories, heads the laboratories’ Customer Service team, and serves as a scientific resource person for all the laboratories’ personnel and scientific professionals. She also organizes and coordinates the laboratories’ various development activities related to the production of analyses and calibrations.
