Étude numérique et expérimentale de l'absorption acoustique et de la transparence acoustique des matériaux poreux hétérogènes en basses fréquences dans le but d'identifier des solutions à fort potentiel d'applicabilité Résumé Les machines utilisées dans plusieurs secteurs d’activité produisent des niveaux de bruit élevés, que subissent un grand nombre de travailleurs. Il s’agit d’un problème aussi important que complexe, et malgré l’existence de dispositifs acoustiques absorbants, les solutions actuellement connues ne permettent pas d’agir efficacement sur les basses fréquences. Les chercheurs ont voulu comprendre les mécanismes qui régissent l’absorption et la transmission acoustiques, en basses fréquences, des matériaux poreux hétérogènes, pour pouvoir ensuite identifier et expérimenter des solutions offrant un fort potentiel d’application. Étant donné la complexité de la question, ils se sont surtout concentrés sur l’absorption acoustique. Ils ont mis au point un modèle numérique et testé plusieurs solutions fondées sur le principe de l’addition d’hétérogénéités et montrant de grandes propriétés d’absorption en basses fréquences. Ce travail permet d’envisager un apport majeur à la conception de nouveaux matériaux acoustiques. Il représente également une approche originale sur le plan scientifique.
