| | | | What's new? Thematic scholarships in mechanical risk An action strategy has been launched to encourage the new generation of researchers to investigate problems related specifically to mechanical risks (e.g. cuts, lacerations, needle punctures, crushing, contact with machines, falls from heights, slipping and falling, and trench cave-ins). Four scholarships will therefore be awarded to applicants whose subject of study is related to the prevention of such mechanical risks, which may be associated with worker/machine interactions or targeted by the use of protective equipment. More details Thematic scholarship on road safety In 2011, transportation accidents ranked first among causes of mortality in accidents at work. Recognizing the prevalence of work-related road accidents, the IRSST has launched a new thematic scholarship at the master's or doctoral level on the theme of road safety at work. This scholarship will be awarded to an applicant whose subject of study relates to both the identification of the causal factors and the prevention of road accidents in connection with the driving of vehicles for work.
