Marie Larue who holds the designation Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) and a master’s degree in organic chemistry, was named President and Chief Executive Officer of the IRSST in 2008. While pursuing her career, she also completed two graduate-level diplomas, one in industrial toxicology and the other in administrative science.
Ms. Larue began her career in the pharmaceutical industry, where she worked for three and a half years. She then spent nearly 25 years at the CSST, mastering the inner workings of Québec’s occupational health and safety plan. From 2000 to 2005, she headed the prevention-inspection division and then the compensation and rehabilitation division, until her appointment to the helm of the IRSST.
