Study on the normal levels of trace elements in total blood, serum and urine in the Québec population Abstract In order to interpret the results of toxicological analyses of workplace samples, the observed concentrations are compared to mean values found in normal populations. Currently, given the absence of Quebec-specific data, comparison is to European and American values. As the levels of some substances may vary slightly from country to country, the use of Quebec-specific reference values would improve the reliability and coherence of analytical results. This project will evaluate the concentrations of 15 metals in individuals from various regions of Quebec.
