Sampling guide for welding fumes and gases Abstract This sampling guide for welding fumes and gases recommends a breathing-zone sampling strategy using a sampling cassette attached directly to the headband of the welder’s mask. The cassette, patented in both Canada and the United States, samples both fumes and gases (O3, NOx, CO, CO2, COCl) emitted during welding and cutting operations. The guide also includes a standard evaluation strategy for the assessment of welders’ exposure.
