Return to work of victims of post-traumatic stress following incidents of workplace violence Abstract The incidence of workplace violence, such as assault and armed robbery is on the rise: since the 1990s, the CSST has compensated an average of 520 workers every year for problems related to post-traumatic stress (PTS). The highest compensation rates are observed in the transportation, finance, commerce, public administration, and medical and social services sectors. While the causes and symptoms of PTS are well known, the variables influencing the return to work of PTS victims remain unclear. This project will identify the influence of workers' perceptions of their employer's corporate culture, their colleagues and the support they receive on return to work. This knowledge will then be used to identify elements that will prove useful for the establishment of workplace support networks.
