Preparation of a guide on occupational genotoxicity Abstract This project will update the IRSST document entitled "Besoins et macanismes d'évaluation des mutagènes" (Mechanisms of action of mutagens and related research needs), and will incorporate information gleaned from recent studies of screening methods for genotoxic agents and the causes of cancer. The document will describe the advantages and disadvantages of various approaches to in vivo assessments of genotoxicity in humans, and will summarize research on hereditary, lifestyle, and occupational factors capable of modulating the body's response to genotoxic agents.Although many substances exhibit genotoxic activity, their effects, both singly and in combination, are unknown. This document will help the IRSST establish research priorities in this field.
