Joint CSST - Sherbrooke Regional Health Board Intervention to reduce musculoskeletal injury in a company in the rubber sector Abstract The CSST has undertaken pilot projects in various regions of Québec aimed at helping industries manage the prevention of cumulative trauma disorders (CTDs). This project, conducted in a company specialising in the deflashing of rubber profiles and with the collaboration of the CSST, implemented a participatory ergonomics programme based on bipartite work groups led by IRSST ergonomics specialists. The project proceeded in four phases: development of a registry of the early signs of CTDs, identification of the most hazardous work situations, identification of risk factors, and execution of modifications. This intervention resulted in a reduction of CTDs in the company and the integration of safety considerations into the organizational culture.
