Integration of OHS from the very inception of an organizational change project: an exploratory study in the service sector

Abstract

The changes introduced by establishments in Québec’s health and social services network have had repercussions on the organization of services, the composition of teams and occupational health and safety (OHS). The researchers plan to document ways of ensuring that OHS is integrated into an organizational change project from its very inception. To this end, they will carry out two field experiments. First, they will analyze a multidisciplinary effort accompanying a change project in a day centre. Then, they will examine, in real time, an organizational change project in the service sector. During this process, the researchers will take stock of scientific reports, with special emphasis on recommendations and observations that would minimize the negative consequences on OHS. They will also develop intervention tools to raise workplace awareness of OHS issues.
