Innovation, training and social protection in employment and work

Abstract

In a context of globalization, new technologies and the knowledge economy, Québec and Canadian companies are being compelled to innovate in producing goods and services, including public administration. These innovations cannot really be productive without qualified and flexible manpower, benefiting from job and income security. Based on this observation, the researchers want to identify the most appropriate innovations for dealing with the current challenges in the working and employment world and to determine the synergistic relationships and complementarities that must be established so that these innovations can improve organizations’ economic and social performances. Using a case study in the fields of production, knowledge management and social protection, the researchers want to be able to produce an inventory of the innovations and to construct typologies of the innovation processes. Each typical process will be broken down into a certain number of steps. For each, tensions to be resolved, solution scenarios and favorable conditions to ensure success will be identified. The scenarios developed can be used as a guide for Québec companies and will be adaptable to all of Canada.
