Identification of tools with which to increase the effectiveness of strategies designed to prevent cumulative trauma disorders in poultry slaughterhouses and processing plants Abstract Recent research funded or conducted by the IRSST on the reduction of cumulative trauma disorders (CTD) in the poultry sector has resulted in increased awareness of this problem. Recently, the Association des abbatoirs avicoles du Québec (Québec Association of Poultry Slaughterhouses) asked the Institute to develop effective prevention programmes and tools to help prevent CTDs in their slaughterhouses and processing plants. A support committee made up of management and labour representatives will oversee this research project, to be conducted in ten enterprises. This approach will favour the eventual management of prevention activities by the stakeholders themselves.
