Evaluation of the determinants of the effectiveness of a training course on occupational safety in the mining sector: segment #2 / FCAR-IRSST Abstract Although training programmes are offered to workers and management in the mining sector, the determinants of these programmes' success remains unknown. The first phase of this project, which studied the effect of various organisational factors on programme success, observed that companies with effective prevention-related activities also had the most active training programmes. In the second phase, the effectiveness of modular training programmes in reducing occupational accidents was studied. Both workers and trainers emphasized the importance of follow-up in modular training programmes, as this ensures long-lasting behavioural modifications. At the conclusion of this study, a bipartite follow-up committee was formed.
