Development of software (utility) for the means for truck retention on transfer platforms

Following the report "Development of a tool for evaluating truck restraining measures on loading docks" (R-381), a simple and user-friendly software program for evaluating measures for restraining trucks on loading docks was developed. This Doc-Quais computer-based tool first evaluates the initial safety level of your company’s loading docks for the three main risks (unscheduled departure, slippage, tipping), and then evaluates the effectiveness of different measures (physical or procedural) for restraining trucks on docks. The software generates a report and a follow-up plan that allows you to store the information and to follow up on the proposed modifications in order to improve the safety of your docks.
Doc-Quais is accompanied by a user guide to make it easier to use, as well as a questionnaire. A simplified and written version of the software is available in the form of a technical fact sheet.
The user guide explains the functionalities of the software and gives an example of its use.
The questionnaire allows you to prepare your answers for using Doc-Quais. Once the questionnaire has been completed, the results can be transferred to the software so that it can automatically analyze the responses and calculate the initial safety level for your docks for the three main risks. The software then interactively calculates an adapted evaluation of the effectiveness of the different possible restraining measures for your loading docks.
The technical fact sheet for improving the safety of your loading docks proposes 30 simple questions, whose answers identify the characteristics of your loading docks, explains the three main risks associated with the docks, and then suggests the most effective restraining measures based on the three risks associated with the docks.
