Development of a research project on the management of safety in small companies Abstract The important role of small companies in job creation and economic activity has been largely demonstrated, but these establishments, employing fewer than 50 workers, often find themselves on their own when it comes to prevention. Health and safety specialists agree on the need to identify methods to help these companies manage prevention. The study of small companies who actively manage their prevention activities and the role of inspectors appear to be promising research avenues. This project will review the relevant scientific literature, draw up a statistical overview of prevention management in small companies, consult key resources and organizations, investigate the possibility of accessing such companies, and identify research avenues, in order to set the stage for future research.
