Abstract

This is a companion project to a study of the neurotoxic effects of manganese exposure in workers employed at a ferromanganese and silicomanganese factory. This study will evaluate the levels of all inorganic components, including manganese, in the blood and urine of workers. The influence of the working environment on the tissue retention of inorganic contaminants will be analyzed, as part of an assessment of the global health risk to workers in this environment.
