A study of serious accidents in the construction sector which have been the object of CSST inquests Abstract This study analyzed 60 fatal or otherwise serious accidents, using the "causal-tree" method developed by France's Institut national de recherche scientifique. The accident process was described and accidents were classified by equipment involved, work surface, environment, task, and personnel. Analysis of dysfunctional decisions at various levels (workers, teams, work organization) will directly lead to the development of preventive measures.
