Due to the rapid spread of COVID-19, and to ensure the health and safety of its employees and its entire network, the IRSST has introduced a number of exceptional measures.
Our research teams are hard at work responding to the requests we have received in connection with COVID-19 and OHS. We are also conducting scientific watch activities in order to make the knowledge produced in Québec and elsewhere in the world available to the public. We invite you to visit the COVID-19 and OHS Web page (available in French only) on the IRSST Web site to consult this information, which will be continually updated.
The Laboratory Division
The Laboratory Division’s regular activities are gradually resuming. Depending on the types of requests, wait times may be longer than usual. The Laboratory Division asks that you contact customer services for any questions about the resumption of regular activities (514 288-1551, extension 315).
Research grant programs
Regular outside research grant programs have been suspended until June 30, 2021, which means that no new proposal (research design, letter of intent or protocol) will be accepted from outside researchers.
The scholarship program
To provide continuing support for the upcoming generation of OHS researchers, the Graduate Studies Scholarships and Postdoctoral Fellowships program (2020–2021 competition) is being maintained. Recipients have already been contacted. The program has also been renewed for 2021–2022.
IRSST/Ambassadors’ Club Joint Award
This competition has been postponed until further notice.
Slowdown in some of the IRSST’s activities
Doing its part in the collective effort requested by the government to curb the COVID-19 pandemic, the IRSST has introduced a number of exceptional measures to ensure the health and safety of its employees and respond to the requests from its network. The Institute asks all its employees to work from home, except for those who provide essential services. We are continuing to ensure that our activities are maintained. We ask you to communicate with our employees by email, not by phone, to ensure ongoing communication.
All the IRSST’s events, including the Rendez-vous de la science scheduled for April 21, 2020, have been cancelled. We will keep you informed of any developments regarding future events.
Thank you for your understanding.
