About the process
The effects of the overall intervention process were evaluated by means of questionnaires distributed in the three pilot facilities where violence-reduction interventions were carried out and in 15 other control facilities where no interventions took place.
The questionnaires were distributed to the officers before the beginning of the intervention (2004), and again nearly one year (2007) and three years (2009) after changes were introduced in the workplaces. The 2007 and 2009 questionnaires made it possible to:
The effects of the measures implemented were witnessed not only at the level of indicators, but also in daily work organization and workplace dynamics.
Interviews were conducted in the three pilot facilities and in certain control facilities in order to collect information on the changes that had taken place in each of the facilities following implementation of the interventions (measures).
Qualitative information was also collected by the researchers through their presence on the different committees formed as part of the process.
