Tool to enhance safe work integration processes in the mining sector: content development

Abstract

The purpose of this project is to develop content for a tool for implementing measures to facilitate the integration of new workers. This tool will be developed in conjunction with the APSM and the Comité sectoriel de main-d'œuvre de l'industrie des mines (CSMO Mines).

A previous project, Conditions for a safe and competent integration of new workers into the mining sector, had documented integration conditions for new miners in five mines, identified the main challenges encountered by these workers, their supervisors and their more experienced colleagues, and identified areas for improvement to facilitate integration and support the transfer of knowledge from experienced workers to novices.

The tool will make this knowledge accessible and adapt it to meet the sector’s needs.
