IRSST - Institut de recherche Robert-Sauvé en santé et en sécurité du travail

Survey and analysis of the strategies for evaluating exposure to workplace contaminants

Abstract

The IRSST must adapt the reference tools that it publishes for Québec occupational health and safety professionals as a result of recent changes to the Regulation respecting occupational health and safety (RROHS). In this case, this involves reviewing the "Sampling strategy” part of the Sampling Guide for Air Contaminants in the Workplace. The scientists will use this activity to update the strategy for evaluating exposure to toxic substances, mainly from the standpoint of a statistical approach, by taking into account the needs expressed by users for explanations and precisions. They will also propose new approaches recently documented in the scientific literature. The result will be tools that are more accessible and easier to use.
