Writing of an easy-to-read guide on the ergonomic process for analyzing work situations in the context of varied tasks for the prevention of MSDs Abstract Like repetitive tasks, varied long-cycle tasks, which are a common work method in companies, are the cause of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD). This new guide will be useful for ergonomists and occupational health and safety professionals for analyzing work activities characterized by long cycles or by varied tasks in order to prevent the MSDs that they can cause. In fact, it allows such situations to be studied using an ergonomic analysis approach. The guide presents the context of application of this approach, explains each of the steps in the work analysis, and recommends that companies review their intervention. It also answers requests for expertise and for the training of people in workplaces in MSD prevention. It is also in line with the guides “Les groupes ERGO - Un outil pour prévenir les LATR” (ERGO groups - A tool for WMSD prevention) and “Les LATR - Mieux les comprendre pour mieux les prévenir” (Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSDs) - A better understanding for more effective prevention) previously published by the IRSST and ASP Métal Électrique.
