IRSST - Institut de recherche Robert-Sauvé en santé et en sécurité du travail

Committed to prevention since 1980

Preventing industrial accidents and occupational diseases, disseminating knowledge and serving as a scientific reference centre and expert have been key components of the IRSST’s mission since day one.

Technological progress, organizational changes and globalization have transformed working conditions worldwide over the past few decades. While some of the traditional risks and hazards have been reduced or eliminated, new ones have emerged. Workers’ age profiles are changing, along with the proportions of men and women in the workplace.

Through its leadership in OHS research and the influence it has gained through networking and partnerships, the Institute makes its presence felt wherever it is important to promote its research results, improve worker health and safety or bring among changes in regulations and standards.
