On the eve of the IRSST’s 25th
anniversary, its 2004 Activity Report reveals certain
characteristics specific to the institute that enable it
to always fulfil its mission. With the theme
“Labour-management approach since the beginning, partner
from the start”, the 2004 report presents concrete
examples of research projects for which the institute
was able to use to advantage the expertise not only of
its personnel but also of its research and financial
partners in order to fulfil requests from the working
community. Other examples clearly show the importance
that the IRSST gives to the transfer of the results of
its work to the sectors concerned.
Appointment of a
representative of the FTQ to the IRSST's Scientific Advisory
Board The workers' representatives on the Board of
Directors of the IRSST have named Mr. Jean Dussault to the
Scientific Advisory Board for a three-year period. Consultant
in the Occupational Health and Safety Department of the
Fédération des travailleurs et travailleuses du Québec (FTQ),
Mr. Dussault will replace his colleague Serge Trudel, who
resigned after having been a member of the institute's first
Scientific Advisory Board in 1980 and having been a permanent
member since 1989.
André Dufresne, partner of the
IRSST, receives the Prix Antoine-Aumont The IRSST
adds its voice to that of the scientific and university
community to warmly congratulate André Dufresne, recipient of
the Prix Antoine-Aumont. Awarded by the Association québécoise
pour l'hygiène, la santé et la sécurité du travail (AQHSST),
this distinction underlines the “outstanding contribution” of
Mr. Dufresne to occupational hygiene, health and safety. Agenda SST - June 2005 The Agenda
