infoIRSST | News about research
Under the title Rendez-vous de la science, the IRSST is organizing lectures on research conducted or funded by the Institute. Stay in touch with OHS research news by attending these french-speaking meetings.
October 10-12, 2018 - Nancy, France
The emergence of new technologies (internet of objects, artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, collaborative robotics, mobile robotics, additive manufacturing, augmented reality, etc.) has a profound impact on industry today. Industries of the future, geared towards improvement of performance, have led to increased use of these new technologies. What are the consequences on the safety of industrial automated systems?
The SIAS 2018 conference will provide the opportunity to present the most recent progress incorporating occupational risk prevention in the transformations related to the concept of “industries of the future” as regards engineering (design, simulation tools, risk analysis, prevention measures, etc.) and the importance of humans, who, more than ever, are at the centre of production systems.
Call for abstracts deadline: April 13, 2018

The theme “From Research to Practice to Prevention” illustrates the cycle in the prevention of injuries and illnesses. It signifies the research work by CROSH but also echoes continued effort by ACE to promote research and awareness of ergonomics and human factors. The 2018 Conference will explore the many ways both ergonomics and health and safety comprehension is expanding, and how the application of this knowledge can have a positive impact on everyone in any sector.
2018 Conference will be of interest to ergonomics/human factors professionals, health and safety professionals, researchers and students, rehabilitation, industrial hygiene, industrial design, human resources, psychology, engineering, and educators.
Call for abstracts deadline: April 6, 2018
October 21-23, 2018 - Vancouver, British-Columbia
Work and working arrangements have become more complex and there are new hazards and risks to worker health that are emerging. Meaningful, fairly compensated, and safe work is good for health. In today’s changing world of work, we are seeing an increase in health inequalities between advantaged and disadvantaged workers. To that end, an underlying theme of the conference is a focus on workers who are in vulnerable working situations and on those who come from historically disadvantaged and excluded populations such as aboriginal or indigenous workers.
Call for abstracts deadline: May 15, 2018
