Québec Provincial Programme on Isocyanates

The Québec provincial programme on isocyanates is led by a standing committee grouping together occupational health and safety professionals from CSST, joint industry associations (comités sectoriels paritaires), regional health and social services boards (Régies régionales de la santé et des services sociaux), CLSCs and IRSST.

Its objectifs are :

• To integrate current knowledge on isocyanates.
• To identify situations requesting further research.
• To do research.
• To circulate knowledge to the Québec occupational health and safety community.

 

By virtue of this programme, companies using isocyanates are visited on a regular basis. The committee supports them in the safe use of these substances. A reference network on occupational asthma will be created soon, gathering specialists from all Québec regions and allowing early diagnostic of lung attacks resulting from overexposure to isocyanates.
