Conference objectives

This conference is designed to provide participants with the newest developments in the prevention, detection, diagnosis and treatment of beryllium sensitization and Chronic Beryllium Disease (CBC). The course will focus on medical surveillance and discuss the immunologic bases of the Beryllium Lymphocyte Proliferation (LPT) Test. The latest research on exposure, epidemiology, and clinical care as well as an international overview of beryllium sensitization and chronic beryllium disease will be presented by participants.

Accreditation and certification


Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). National Jewish Medical and Research Center is accredited by the ACCME to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians and takes responsibility for the content, quality, and scientific integrity of this CME activity.  National Jewish designates this educational activity for a maximum of 21 category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity.

American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH)
Certification maintenance points through the American Board of Industrial Hygiene will be provided for Industrial Hygienists.

Registration Maintenance Committee of the Canadian Registration Board
The Registration Maintenance Committee of the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists will award 1.0 point for each full day and 0.5 point for each 1/2 day of Conference. For information :
