Phase 4 Evaluation of impacts Objectives - Making an informed judgement about the usefulness of the research and the translation
- Enhancing the discussions and reflection on future orientations
| Analysis of the impacts and actual outcomes of the research results in workplaces should allow a sound judgement about their usefulness and enhance discussions and reflection on the future orientations. Insofar as possible, this analysis must take into account the degree of penetration of the results in workplaces (step 7 – follow-up of the transfer of the results and their application by workplaces) and an evaluation of the outcomes (step 8). For example, the degree of penetration of the results could be assessed by means of simple data collection tools, applicable throughout the deployment strategy, and subject to agreements with the stakeholders. A guide for users In 2003, the IRSST and the CSST published a document entitled A User’s Guide to Conveyor Belt Safety, Protection from Danger Zones, to reduce the number of often serious accidents related to the use of this equipment in several industrial sectors. With 13,000 copies printed, this guide proposes a series of measures for the safe use and maintenance of conveyors. To document the use of this tool by workplaces, a research team will evaluate its degree of appropriation and the application of the prevention advice presented in this guide. This study will help increase knowledge relating to KT and contribute to its development. The results of this project will determine the obstacles to the use of such educational publications and orient professionals in the development of their training programs. |
