Profile

André Lan is a researcher in the Mechanical and Physical Risk Prevention field at the IRSST. An employee of the Institute since 1984, he works on protection against falls from heights and on excavations and trenches (shoring). He is a voting member of CSA Z259 Technical Committee for Fall Protection and an observer for the review committee for Québec’s Safety Code for the Construction Industry (CQLR c S-2.1, r.4). He holds an engineering diploma from France’s École nationale des travaux publics de l’état (ENTPE), a master’s degree in applied mechanics from Université scientifique et médicale de Grenoble (now Université Joseph-Fourier-Grenoble 1), and a master’s degree in engineering (M.Eng.) from École polytechnique de Montréal. Mr. Lan has published many scientific documents, including articles for scientific and professional journals, research reports, and others, as well as numerous knowledge transfer and popularized articles.
