Updated knowledge on the acoustic signaling of lift trucks Abstract Every year, lift trucks are involved in workplace accidents, several of which are due to inadequate acoustic signalling (horns and back-up alarms). The relevance of this signalling can consequently be questioned, and alternative solutions considered that could improve worker safety. The aim of this project is to update the knowledge on the use of horns and back-up alarms on lift trucks, the inventory on the types of lift truck and the description of horns and back-up alarms, the portrait of lift truck-related accidents, to verify the optimal operation of GAUM laboratory equipment, and to prepare a research protocol on the relevance of the acoustic signalling of lift Produced Under this Project Scientific Publications Review of the Literature on Acoustic Warning Signals and Forklift TrucksLaroche C., Denis S.Source : Canadian Acoustics, vol. 28, no 3, 2000, p. 154-155 Additional Information Type: Project Number: 0099-0290 Status: Completed Year of completion: 2000 Research Field: Mechanical and Physical Risk Prevention Team: Chantal Laroche (Université de Montréal)
