Abstract

This project will analyze, classify, and evaluate technical information on techniques used to identify and reduce noise generated by vacuum pumps identical or similar to those used in the paper industry. The literature review will serve as a starting point for a diagnostic prefeasibility study of noise reduction in this type of pump.

Several databases will be consulted, theoretical and experimental data on qualitative and quantitative factors analyzed, and the results and conclusions of previous studies reviewed. The applicability, ease of implementation, and predicted or documented effectiveness of the techniques will be assessed.

The literature review produced by this project will serve as a reference for all future studies on the identification and reduction of noise associated with vacuum pumps in the paper industry.
