Development of a method for analyzing nitrosamines in workplace air Abstract Worker exposure to nitrosamines must be reduced to a minimum because some compounds in this family are suspected of being carcinogenic. For this reason, the presence of these substances in the rubber industry has been the subject of additional monitoring in the last few years. The increase in the number of requested analyses, conducted in an outside laboratory, is prompting the IRSST to develop its own nitrosamine evaluation method. The development of its analytical expertise in this field will enable the IRSST to better respond to the needs of its clientele, at a lower cost.
