The Regulation respecting occupational health and safety (RROHS) stipulates that companies must develop and apply a respiratory protection program, with one aspect being the evaluation of a worker’s capacity to wear appropriate protective equipment. The employer and union parties on the technical committee studying the changes to be made to the RROHS want the already published report on this subject to be revised, mainly to take into account the evolution in scientific knowledge, legislative changes, and the comments expressed by various workplaces. This project will help to produce a consensual approach to the evaluation of a worker’s capacity to wear respiratory protection. The resulting report will be integrated into the respiratory protection guide that is being revised, which is the regulatory reference document widely distributed in workplaces and to health and safety practitioners.
