Montréal, March 26, 2010 - At its annual general assembly, the Board of Directors of the Institut de recherche Robert-Sauvé en santé et en sécurité du travail (IRSST) adopted a motion of congratulations for the authors of a scientific article that has just been recognized as being the Article of the Year by the Society of Toxicology.
Resulting from a research project funded by the IRSST and the Agence française de sécurité sanitaire de l’environnement (AFSSET), this article, published in 2009 in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene, was written by Irene Sari-Minodier, Ginette Truchon, Ginette Charest-Tardif, Anik Bérubé and Robert Tardif.
Entitled The effect of workload on biological monitoring of occupational exposure to toluene and n-hexane: contribution of physiologically based toxicokinetic modeling, this article was selected Article of the Year because it is in keeping with the mission of the Society of Toxicology which aims to promote the integration of research principles and methods in toxicology and epidemiology in the fields of public health, environmental health and occupational health.
On behalf of its personnel, the IRSST’s president and CEO, Marie Larue, congratulated the authors, and paid tribute in particular to her colleague Ginette Truchon for this honour, which demonstrates the quality and knowledge of researchers in toxicology in Québec.
